Countryside Demolition were reffered by BM steel to change two areas of scrubland into a useable storage space. The works were required quite urgently as due to lockdown easing the demand for steel chassis had increased dramatically and so getting the works compelted quickly was paramount.
The site area (Photo below highlighted red) shows the two areas of the site we were asked to concrete. However, it does not show that we working on an active site. working around an ongoing operation requires a more considerate approach and it is important to communicate clearly so the both the works can be compelted in timely fashion and works on the site are not impacted.

The first step was getting the correct equipment in. For this job we used an 8t excavator we hired in, a roller, ditching bucket and a nicely toothed bucket for digging up the site, a laser level and roadforms. We then organised for our concreteing team to come in 1 week after we started, adding pressure to us to get preperation work done quickly!
We had 2 men using the 8t excavator and laser level to ensure we dug sufficently deep to put in the type 1 hardcore. Any excess materials which was quite a lot! We piled on the side in a neat pile ready to be taken away as muchaway. (photo below!)

After a grueling week we were able to put in the roadforms. Luckily the weather was on our side and we confirmed to the concreting team that they could come up and start pouring! The concreting team managed to get both pours done in a single day. We used a total of 120 cubic meters of concrete with the large reinforcing fibers.
This was a challenging site due to a strict time scale and it being an active site. However, we got the work done and the client was happy adding us to their preffred supplier list.
